OK…I have to admit..I went into panic mode today. ME??…panic mode??…never…yeah, right! Problems have never been my strong suit…maybe being the last child, having parents do everything for you because they’re tired and they’ve given up (I only know exactly why now after becoming a parent), or maybe it’s just my hardwire…whatever the case I HATE problems! So anyway, all excited for my shoot this morning, I drag the {T} family down to the boonies, dirt road after gravel road….only to find this beautiful old barn I was planning on shooting by had been torn down…grrr! Unfamiliar with the ‘backwoods’ but knowing I needed another location (preferably nearby), I buzz on down the road to find another barn and highly un-manicured area (ditchweed galore and white trash bags hanging on the gate). Though unlike the first location, this one is someone’s main property. Luckily the owner was available to ask if we could use and, graciously, she allowed. So we proceed with the shoot as I’m desperately trying to get a handle on the lighting. Thinking all was well (histograms looking good), I called it a wrap. Later, however, when I downloaded the photos, I noticed this crazy ‘HAZE’ on many of the photos?? WTH….fog, dew, mist…ditchweed residue??? Now I start to panic, thinking NO photos will be salvageable. I must RESEARCH…my answer to everything. If google has a frequency tracker…I’m up near the top of the list. So, what was this crazy phenomenon??….FLARE! Now I’m not totally new to flare, I just thought it was usually pretty dots and/or starry looking suns. Nope, sun flare comes in all shapes and sizes, just like……well, never mind. And get this…the kind I captured, I found to be highly coveted by some. So sorry {Z}, if the rainbow on your face makes you feel any less of a man….I think it’s just your better half making you shine 😉
